Our Mission
WOAB (Working On A Building), Inc. empowers individuals in recovery and low-income families to build brighter futures through workforce training, education, and affordable housing.
Together, we construct literal homes and metaphorical “Holy Ghost buildings,” transforming lives and communities through faith, teamwork, and second chances.
Our Inspiration
Inspired by Bill Monroe’s “Working on a Building” and Cherokee Gadugi values of collective good, we train participants in modular home construction at Prime Craftsman Homes’ Skiatook factory, fostering skills, sobriety, and economic independence.
Our Values
Guided by Christian principles—“preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words”—and the motto Uva uvam vivendo varia fit (“A grape changes by living with other grapes”), WOAB offers holistic education in health, nutrition, financial literacy, and life skills, alongside an equity-building homeownership program with 0–2% interest loans. Together, we construct literal homes and metaphorical “Holy Ghost buildings,” transforming lives and communities through faith, teamwork, and second chances.
